FROZEN IN TIME

Sarah C. Butler's Frozen In Time is a stunning and unique photographic narrative that tells the story of how her camera became the tool that enabled her to reconnect with her estranged mother. For six years, Sarah photographed her mother's beautiful but decrepit Maine home. From these visits comes a sequence of images that tell a poignant story of coming to terms with a difficult mother, before she unexpectedly passes away.

My goal as her photography editor and coach was to stick with her through this journey as it morphed and changed. Working together, we were able to choose the best images from a session, figure out what the next session should focus on and ultimately create a book sequence that is intimately personal and yet relatable to her audience.

Frozen in Time was published by Glitterati Inc. with a Foreword by Vicki Goldberg and Afterword by Alison Morley,
